Zoe Formosa - Principal Coach
Zoe Formosa is our principal coach, and she is passionate about bringing out the best in her performers. She focuses on creating an inclusive environment for her students to thrive to develop skills and technique both on and off the floor. Zoe is a fun-natured coach who pushes her students to their fullest potential, nurturing and supporting them as individual performers.
Zoe is an Australian Calisthenics Federation registered Level 1 Coach with Cert 2 in Dance. Zoe has an extensive calisthenics background as a performer and a coach, which has accumulated over her journey within the sport. Zoe has also recently been appointed a member of the Victorian Coaches Committee as an advisor to new products launched by Calisthenics Victoria.
Zoe has been an elite performer performing at the championship level for 9 years. Zoe competes in the Senior Open Section for her Calisthenics and Graceful Solo and is highly competitive.
Zoe’s accomplishments over the years are –
• Winning the inaugural State Championship Trio Section in 2022
• Coaching 12 Winning State Championship Items
• Coming HM in the prestigious Royal South Street Society Calisthenics Solo Competition in 2022
• Winning the Intermediate Graceful Section in 2019 in the inaugural international competition
• Receiving Grade 4 Honours with Distinction in 2019
• Winning the prestigious Vera Hopton Memorial Award in 2018
• Coming 2nd Place at the Australian National Championships in 2018
• Selected to be a part of the Victorian State Team on 4 occasions Innagural Coach of the CV Let’s Go CaliKids product.
Zoe is passionate about delivering fun and engaging classes that push students to try new things and leave with skills and experiences they couldn’t experience elsewhere. Zoe loves advancing students to new bounds that they didn’t think they could achieve by inspiring and nurturing my students to great lengths. Zoe is so excited to bring a new era of calisthenics to our members at Florincey Calisthenics Club and cannot wait to guide our teams to great success in 2024.
Alex Kenner - Juniors Co Coach
Alex has been involved in Calisthenics for over 28 years across multiple divisions, with majority of her time being spent in the Championship division. Alex is a Silver Medallist and has performed at Royal South Street 3 times for the Graceful Girl competition. She has performed as part of the Victorian State Team in 2011, 2014 and 2017 and was fortunate enough to be chosen to perform her Graceful Solo at Nationals in 2017. Alex has been coaching and choreographing for over 15 years and has achieved many accomplishments and State Titles during this time. While competing in Calisthenics, Alex was also being trained in ballet, jazz, tap, and musical theatre, and she even studied full-time in the city to complete her diploma in dance and performance.
In 2023, Alex came out of retirement to join the inaugural Florincey Masters team and absolutely loved being back on stage and performing with her team.
Alex is honoured to join the Florincey coaching team and can’t wait to work alongside Zoe with the first Florincey Juniors Team in 2024.
Danielle Kenner - Masters Coach
Danielle has been involved in calisthenics for 45 years as a competitor, coach, mother, and adjudicator.
During her time in calisthenics, she coached all age groups in teams and solos. She started coaching in Division 6 and has worked through the divisions to have the opportunity to coach at a championship level. In 2017, Danielle had the privilege of coaching the Victorian State Team Seniors, which was an amazing experience.
Danielle believes calisthenics is more than just a sport; it’s a community. The support and friendships you gain through calisthenics keep us returning year after year. Danielle is a true example of leadership at florincey, offering mentorship and advice across all our sections to all our coaches. Danielle’s creative eye and love for pushing the boundaries make her choreography stand out and create a lasting impact on audiences.
Danielle is very excited to be back coaching the Florincey Calisthenics Club Masters and can’t wait to bring together an amazing group of ladies as a team. We’re hoping more ladies out there want to return to calisthenics, and we’re all looking forward to an exciting year ahead.
